I’m Jesse Turner, and I’m running on something most politicians are terrified of: The Truth.

Before getting into any of this, I want to be clear: none of it should be the reason you vote for me. You shouldn’t vote for someone just because they have a certain background that matches yours, wore a uniform, or worked certain jobs. You should vote for whoever you believe will actually represent you the people, not party leadership, not their foreign donors, or to protect their political careers. That said, in the spirit of transparency here’s my story.

I grew up in Union with two very different realities about our justice system. My father wore the badge. My mother served the sentence. From my father, I saw the side of justice that keeps order enforcing the law, protecting the public, and maintaining stability.

From my mother’s sentence, I saw how the system works when you’re on the receiving end of it. How rules, procedures, and discretion can shape outcomes just as much as facts. Seeing both sides is why I believe in law, order, and accountability that is applied evenly. A justice system only works when the same standards apply to everyone.

That upbringing carried into my own service. I spent nine years in the United States Marine Corps. Five years in infantry with two deployments, where you learn fast that leadership matters and excuses cost lives. I then spent four years in recruiting, where I saw how large systems really work: decisions are often driven by rank and numbers more than by what’s right.

When I left the Marines, I didn’t go into politics. I started and bought businesses. I dealt with the same inspectors, permits, banks, and red tape that every business owner here knows all too well. Just solidifying what I always knew…the people who make the rules don’t have to live under them.

That’s one of the many reasons why I’m running. We have all felt what happens when the government stops listening. We have all seen what happens when courts, regulators, and agencies stop being accountable and we’re the ones who pay the price, not the insiders, not the career politicians.

I may not have a perfect story but at least it’s a real one. I’m Jesse Turner, and I’m running so that truth, transparency, and justice can finally come to the government.
